Admiral Peary House Bed & Breakfast in Fryeburg. Our historic home was once the residence of the famous Arctic explorer renowned for his discovery of the North Pole, Admiral Robert E. Peary. Located on a quiet residential street in Fryeburg, the oldest village in the White Mountains of western Maine, the Admiral Peary House sits on ten beautiful acres. Surrounding the sprawling white victorian farm house, circa 1865, are spacious lawns, award-winning perennial gardens, and a superb red clay tennis court. Spring, Summer and Fall guests will enjoy a vast array of activities in the area, such as, hiking, antiquing, golfing, outlet shopping, boating, and, of course, playing tennis. Complimentary bicycles are available to enjoy the scenic beauty of our village. A trip to this area is never complete without a peaceful day canoeing the Saco River - a pristine beauty that's especially nice midweek. The guest livingroom has a massive fireplace, ample sitting and reading areas, and a regulation billiard table. A large screened porch complete with white wicker overlooks the lawns and gardens to the back of the house. The porch is the perfect spot for a quiet retreat for reading or socializing with other guests.
There is also a year-round outdoor spa where you can enjoy a theraputic soak.
Breakfasts at the Admiral Peary House are an "event". A full country breakfast complete with homemade breads, muffins, and fresh fruits is served each morning. Favorite entrees include Maine Blueberry Pancakes, Belgian Waffles, or Admiral Peary "Penguin" Pie. Served at the enormous table in the sunny country kitchen or our elegant dining room, guests enjoy meeting each other during the leisurely meal.
Whether you come for non-stop activity or just need some stress-release time relaxing, our year-round guests will delight in the pristine beauty of the White Mountains with its numerous activities. The beautiful Maine coastline is just a short 50 minute drive away. Alberta, Leo and Carol look forward to your visit.

Spring & Summer Events in Fryeburg, Maine: Memorial Day and July 4th Celebrations: Parades, concerts, fireworks, Portland Symphony Orchestra under the stars at Shawnee Peak. "One of the best concerts and fireworks displays we've ever seen. Look forward to next year!"
Fryeburg Flea Market: Every Sunday at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds beginning in June. A great place to find antiques, bargains, memorabilia, etc.
Free Concerts in Bradley Park: Fryeburg's Bradley Park Concert Series. Regional and local talented performers present a free concert every Tuesday evening at the Gazebo in the park just a half block away. Bring your lawn chair (we have extras!) and enjoy an evening of fine entertainment.
Chamber Music Festival - International Musical Arts Institute: Series of 15 concerts throughout the month of July featuring internationally recognized concert artists as well as aspiring young professionals. Performances every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and special Free Senior (over 65) Concerts on Sunday. Guests of the Admiral Peary House receive a 20% discount on tickets!
Fryeburg Fair - September 30 - October 7: Maine's Blue Ribbon Classic. One of the largest fairs in New England. Maine's largest agricultural fair,
Exhibition Halls, Farm Museum, Craft Demonstrations, 4-H, Craft Expo, Harness Racing, Woodsman's Day, day and evening entertainment. A spectacular fair in a beautiful setting!
Our Winter guests will be thrilled with the numerous downhill (9) areas and cross-country (5) areas within minutes of the house. Discover something new this year! Come try our new Snowshoe Trail out back! We have snowshoe rentals on site and we'll be happy to introduce you to this really enjoyable, easy, and rapidly-growing winter sport. If you can walk, you can snowshoe! Rentals are $10 per day. Weekend and weekly rates are also available.
