Rockport is a small seaport one hour north of Boston at the end of Route 128. (Take route 127 from Gloucester until you see our sign in Pigeon Cove) Most famous as an art colony, the town was a major granite shipper until the depression closed the quarries. Today, vacationers sunbathe on the rocks and beaches, take walks through the woods or along the shore, or watch the whales from boats out of Rockport or Gloucester. The Rockport Golf Club has a fine nine hole course about three miles from the Emerson, and there are tennis courts less than a mile from the inn.
The Emerson is open year-round. Although the town is "dry," you may drink anywhere on the premises. We cannot sell drinks, but there is a package store about two miles from the inn. As you will notice in the brochure, we are a traditional country inn. Half of our rooms face the Ocean, and our top floor suite has a balcony with a truly spectacular Ocean view. Although we are easy to reach by car, Rockport also has good rail service from North Station in Boston. | All 36 guest rooms have private baths, air-conditioning, color - cable television, and telephones. Wireless internet connection is also available .Salt-water swimming pool is open seasonally. Indoor whirlpool and sauna are available year round. From May through October, our rates include a full breakfast , from November through April our rates include a continental breakfast.

Check-in Time 4:00 pm; Check-out time 11:00 am. Late arrivals (after 10 pm in season / after 7 pm off season) must be arranged in advance. We accept cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, Diners Club and Cart Blanche.Deposits - A two night's deposit is required for all reservations. 14 days advance notice of cancellation is required for a deposit refund. The charge for each extra person (infant, child or adult) is $25 per night plus tax, and must be made in advance. A two night weekend reservation is required May through October. A three night minimum applies during holiday weekends and weekends in August. Occasionally, space may be available for shorter periods of time: please call to inquire. All confirmations are subject to our receipt of your deposit, which will be applied to the last night (s) of your reservation. A two-night deposit is required for short stays; a 50% deposit is required for stays of 5 nights or more. If a credit card number is given to confirm a reservation, the deposit will be processed on the day the reservation is taken. The remaining balance is due upon arrival. 14 days advance notice of cancellation is required for a deposit refund. |
